Why Upload Plugin Manually?
The simple answer is sometimes you just have to upload plugin manually. If you purchased a product that is a paid plugin you will have to download plugin and then upload plugin from your computer manually. Trust me it is much simpler than it sounds.
There are two ways to upload plugin manually. The first and easiest way to do it is shown in this next video. You simply log into your WordPress Admin Panel and go to install plugins and click on add new. Browse your computer to find the file and click upload and activate. It literally is that simple as you will see in the video below.
Sometimes and again I don’t know why, other than a glitch in the system, you have to go another route. The way to do this is through the c-panel of your hosting company. I actually use this method when I am installing multiple plugins at once as I think it is easier.
What you do is this. Log into your c-panel and click on the icon that says file manager. Your list of domains on that server will open and you choose which domain you want to upload plugin into. Then you double click on the WordPress Content file and that will open into several sub files. Your are looking for the one titled plugins. Double click on that and then click on install new. Again you will browse your computer and upload plugin just as if from your WordPress Admin Panel.
Like I said I like to use this approach when I am installing several plugins at once and I want to save a few minutes. Again I don’t know if this is really any faster it is just what I prefer to do.
Whichever way you choose to go is up to you. The video below shows you how to do it through your WordPress Admin Panel but either way will net you the same result.
